ACCSC EARNS RECOGNITION FROM THE AMERICAN REGISTRY OF RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGISTS!

ACCSC Press Release.

On January 26, 2016, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) informed ACCSC that it had successfully earned recognition as an ARRT-recognized institutional accreditor. The mission of AART is to promote high standards of patient care by recognizing qualified individuals in medical imaging, interventional procedures and radiation therapy, and ACCSC is proud to be recognized as a partner in that mission.

By earning this recognition, students who successfully complete a radiography, nuclear medicine technology, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance imaging, or sonography educational program from an ACCSC-accredited institution are eligible to pursue certification and registration. As noted by ARRT, employers, state licensing agencies, and federal regulators look at the ARRT credential as an indication that a person has met a recognized national standard for medical imaging, interventional procedures, and radiation therapy professionals.

ACCSC’s Executive Director, Dr. Michale McComis noted the following: “We are incredibly pleased to learn of ARRT’s decision to recognize ACCSC. This recognition will be exceptionally beneficial to students who are seeking a meaningful career in these critical medical fields. ACCSC looks forward to continuing to work collaboratively with ARRT going forward to ensure the highest quality educational experience for students.”
